On an afternoon hike, we spotted this Elk taking a dip in
the water. Whether he was escaping the mosquitoes, looking
for a cool refreshing bath, or just out for a stroll looking
for something to eat, it sure looked inviting on this warm,
calm sunny day. |

On the lookout, this Hoary Marmot could well be paying “Hide
and Seek” with the other marmots, however we think it more
likely that he heard us crack a twig and stopped eating to
check out the sound. |

This horse belonged to Dean's sister. “Meisje” (a Dutch word
meaning “little girl”) was stabled on Vancouver Island a
short distance north of Victoria. |

About this photo: Rocky and the Raccoons on the rocks
Masked up like a group of daytime bandits, this family of
Raccoons was having a great time on this nice summer day
playing on the rocks. The smallest one, standing close to
his Mother, eventually headed off for a few noisy bouts of
high-jinx followed by a few equally noisy rounds of playing
Tag, Hide-and-Seek and their favorite - Steal Your Little
Brothers Stick and Throw It In The Water. |
